RULES FOR GARBAGE & RUBBISH COLLECTION
GARBAGE
Waste generated from the normal operation of the household and kitchen, including all food waste, fish, meats and vegetables in PLASTIC BAGS is to be stored in CLOSED, LEAKPROOF, METALLIC or PLASTIC CANS at the REAR or SIDE of your home. Collections will be made on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, and FRIDAY or TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY between 7:00 A.M. and 4 P.M. During periods of snow, residents are required to provide a clear path to the location of the receptacles.RUBBISH
Waste generated from the normal maintenance of the household OTHER THAN kitchen waste, yard waste and recyclables is to be placed at the CURB (not in the sidewalk area or in the street), visible to the rubbish truck driver, AFTER SUNDOWN the night before your regular collection day. Pickup is limited to THREE 30-GALLON CONTAINERS weighing no more than 50 lbs or SIX bundles per household on each day of collection. Corrugated cardboard boxes must be flattened and tied securely into bundles.PAPER
Newspaper, junk mail, phone books, magazines, catalogues, construction paper, envelopes (without plastic windows), index cards, greeting cards, paperback books, paper packages and non-metallic paper are collected separately, at the REAR or SIDE of the house, ALONGSIDE THE GARBAGE, on regular pickup days.RECYCLABLES
Bottles, cans, aluminum foil, pie tins, pots, pans, and plastic containers are collected separately, at the REAR OR SIDE of the house, ALONGSIDE THE GARBAGE, on regular pickup days.YARD WASTE
Grass and leaves in PLASTIC BAGS weighing 50 pounds per bag and limited to 6 bags, hedge clippings tied securely in bundles, and tree limbs up to 3 inches in diameter and 4 feet long should be placed at the CURB LINE AFTER SUNDOWN the night before the regular collection day.BULK ITEMS
Furniture, box springs, mattresses, appliances (only one item per week) and carpeting cut into 4-foot lengths, rolled and securely tied should be placed at the CURB LINE AFTER SUNDOWN for pickup on FRIDAY or SATURDAY depending on your regularly scheduled days, except during the week of a legal holiday. Doors to appliances must be removed as a safety precaution.HOLIDAYS
NO collections will be made on Sundays OR New Year’s Day, Martin L. King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas Day. If your pickup falls on a legal holiday, collection will be on your next regularly scheduled day.EXCLUSIONS
Dirt, hazardous waste, volatile materials, propane tanks, gas tanks, bricks, asphalt, concrete, granite, marble, all other stone and stoneware, lime asbestos, automobile parts, pipes, infectious and biological waste, logs larger than three inches in diameter or longer than four feet, chain link fencing and cables are excluded.The contract does not cover the removal of debris from lawn maintenance contractors or debris from new construction, alterations, demolition or remodeling. Disposition of this material is the responsibility of the owner or contractor, who may make an arrangement with Meadow Carting or any carting service.
